PITIABLE SUFFERING

Sad Death of Mrs. W. C. Scribner In Series of Convulsions

Had One Every Fifteen Minutes For the Past Two Days

Condition is Very Rare and Pitiable to Behold

There could have been no more pitiable deathbed scene than those surrounding the couch on which Mrs. William C. Scribner has lain dying for the past three days. Tho family lives on lower Jefferson Street. The woman passed away at 10:20 last evening, after undergoing one epileptic fit following another at intervals of fifteen minutes for fully two days. These attacks have been felt for the past week, but during the last two days of her life, Mrs. Scrlbner lay in a comatose condition, being seized every fifteen minutes with convulsions that were so intense that one could hardly bear to witness them. The attending physician says this condition is quite rare. No drug was powerful enough to mitigate her suffering, and she died of exhaustion.

Decedent was about forty years old.

She leaves besides the husband two children, a boy aged 16 and a girl aged 4. The family moved here not so very long ago from Grundy Center and the remains will probably be taken there for burial.

The family is in rather poor financial condition, hard luck and sickness making it impossible for Mr. Scrlbner to get anything ahead. The family are Baptists and the funeral services will be conducted by a minister of that denomination, probably Rev. J. A. Karl of this city.
