On Sunday afternoon at 2:10 at her home, 169 Eleventh Street, Harriett O., wife of Rev. Elias Skinner, passed away at the advanced age 0f 82 years, death being due to old age and complications.

Mrs. Skinner had been confined to her bed for four weeks, but previous to that time, had been in fairly good health, except for a severe illness three years ago with which she was sick several weeks. until her health failed, Mrs. Skinner took great interest in the work of the Methodist church of which she was a lifelong member and she was one of the honored guests at the old people's dinner held at Grace M. E. Church September 18. Ever a bright and cheery disposition, her presence always gave pelasure and her spirit of hospitality overflowed toward those who visited her at her home. During the fifteen years of her residence in waterloo, she made many friends and all will now feel sincere regret at her death.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Harriett Knapp, was born in Granville, Ohio, July 6, 1827. She was married in Ohio to Martin Burnett and came west with her husband soon after her marriage to Waverly, Iowa, where they lived a year and then moved to Schoolcraft, Mich., where she lived for forty-five years. In 1894, she came to Waterloo to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Kohl, and the following year, 1895*, she was married to Rev. Elias Skinner. Besides her husband and only daughter, Mrs. W. C. Kohl of this city, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eliza Kain, whose home is in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The funeral will be held at Grace M. E. Church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. D. Hull and Rev. W. H. Reherd, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. The members of Lincoln Circle, Ladies of the G. A. R., of which Mrs. Skinner was a member, will take part in the services and the members of Robert Anderson Post G. A. R. will also attend in a body out of respect to Rev. Mr. Skinner, chaplain of the order. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

*Marriage date believed to be incorrect because Rev. Elias' first wife, Maria (Barnes) Skinner died July 1896.
