WATERLOO - Lawrence H. "Larry" Heggebo, 84, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 6, 1921, in Norway, Iowa, son of Herman and Lottie Bondhaus Heggebo. He married Florence Hays on Oct. 23, 1946, in Waterloo.

Mr. Heggebo served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He had been a truck driver for McCoy Truck Lines and later for Briggs Transportation until retiring.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rodney Hays of South Dakota and Larry Heggebo of Waterloo; two daughters, Marilyn Gray and Karolyn (Danny) Brunson, both of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore and Robert; a sister, Gladys Thompson; a granddaughter, Tina Heggebo; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Reiser Brunson.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion and Waterloo Post 1623 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Public visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the chapel.
