CEDAR FALLS - Richard L. "Dick" Tournier, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at the Cedar Falls Western Home of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Waterloo, son of Walter and Ureth Frye Tournier. He married Hazel Goodman on Aug. 17, 1948, in Walker, Minn.

Mr. Tournier owned and operated Tournier Welding in Waterloo for 36 years and the Waterloo Bowl In for 20 years, retiring in 1995. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Walt (Kathleen) of Waterloo; a daughter, Diane Tournier of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Jay, Lindsey and Kyle Tournier; and a brother, Kenneth (Joyce) of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Howard, Harry and Russell Tournier; and a sister, Darlene LaPole.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family, in lieu of flowers.
