WATERLOO - Mary J. Boeckmann, 68, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 22, 1937, in Mankato, Minn., daughter of Richard and Hazel Stone Anton. She married John Anstey, and they were later divorced. She then married Frederick Boeckmann, and they were later divorced.

She was a homemaker.

Survived by two daughters, Jodell (Tim) Mehmen and Sandra Jean Surprenant, both of Waterloo; two stepsons, Joel Boeckmann of Arizona and Scott Boeckmann of Waverly; two stepdaughters, Sherry Farland of Waverly and Julie Boeckmann of Minnesota; 18 grandchildren, Jessica Swope, Jacqueline Jenkins, Joshua Surprenant, Benjamin Surprenant, Zachary Anstey, Holly Anstey, Andrew Surprenant, Katie Jo Mehmen, Chantel Boeckmann, Sirisa Boeckmann, Shane Boeckmann, Jesse Boeckmann, Jeremy Boeckmann, Jamie Boeckmann, Stacy Sweet, Alisha Sweet, Amanda Farland and Jacob Farland; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis and Bruce, both of Minnesota; and a sister, Arlene of Minnesota.

Preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Russell Joseph Anstey and Frederick Carl Boeckmann Jr.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
