CEDAR FALLS - Viola Brocka, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Grundy County, daughter of Seede and Jesse Hook Mennen. She married Alfred Brocka on Jan. 8, 1942, in Aplington; he died Feb. 20, 2004.

Mrs. Brocka and her husband farmed near Kesley, Clarksville and New Hartford, moving to Cedar Falls in 1966. Before her retirement, she held positions at University of Northern Iowa and Regents Café. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.

Survived by a daughter, Joyce Cawelti of Cedar Falls; two granddaughters, Jodie (Brad) Victoria of Denver and Janae (Gerald) Petersen of Harris, Minn.; and four great-grandchildren, Brock and Brielle Petersen, and Jordyn and Bailey Victoria.

Preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Gary Cawelti; three brothers, Roy, Lester and Vesse Mennen; and two sisters, Ann Oldenburger and Corleen Storbeck.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
