WATERLOO - Terrance "Terry" DeBerg, 74, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Rosewood Estate of Friendship Village.

He was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Waterloo, son of Raymond and Virginia Cunningham DeBerg. He married Helen Graham and they later divorced.

Mr. DeBerg graduated from Waterloo East High School and Upper Iowa University. He taught and coached wrestling and football in Janesville and Denver schools. He worked as a buyer for Rath Packing Co., as a salesman for Glenn Jefferies Implement, and was assistant manager of the Halford and Sons Elevator, Independence.

Survived by a son, Matt (Jen) of Iowa City; two grandsons, Graham and Drew DeBerg; a sister, Paula (Dennis) Olejniczak of Decorah; three brothers, Dale (Alberta) of Cedar Falls, and Mark (Ann) and Ned (Cindy), both of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation.
