PARKERSBURG -- Charles “Chuck” E. Cleary, 79, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Waterloo, son of Edward William and Ruth Anne Christopher Cleary. On Sept. 9, 1961, he married Janice Marie Jungling at First Congregational Church, Parkersburg.

Mr. Cleary graduated from high school in Parkersburg in 1951, and then served in the U.S. Air Force as an electrical navigation equipment repairman overseas in Germany. He had worked for many years at Kyhl’s Chevrolet, Parkersburg, as parts manager, and then worked at Rydell Chevrolet, Waterloo, in the parts department, retiring in 2008. He was a member of First Congregational Church and was a charter member of Parkersburg Lion’s Club.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Lynne (Dennis) Mulder of Parkersburg; a son, David (Kristi) of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Brett and Aaron Mulder, Landon and Adyson Cleary; a brother, John (Karen) of Ackley; a sister, Margaret (Harlan) Schuck of Parkersburg; two brothers-in-law, Delbert (Nancy) Jungling of Reinbeck and Alvin (Charla) Jungling of Melbourne; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie (Donald) Kramer of Shell Rock.

Preceded in death by his parents; and his mother and father-in-law, Albert and Mina Jungling.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Parkersburg. Military rites will be conducted by Parkersburg American Legion Post 285. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and an hour before services Friday at the church.
