WATERLOO - Henrietta “Retta” Rundlett, 80, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born December 21, 1932, in Adair County, daughter of Frank and Frankie Palmer Hager. She married Everett Rundlett on March 22, 1953, in Greenfield.

She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1951, and after her marriage Mrs. Rundlett and her husband farmed. She drove a semi-truck for many years, hauling gasoline or prestress concrete for Shirey’s. She also was a school bus driver for a brief period of time. She was a member of a quilting club and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly).

Survived by her husband; three sons, Robert and William (Deb), both of Vinton, and Jeffory of Waterloo; a daughter, Sue Andriano of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Jessica Rundlett of Des Moines, Josie (Matt) Beecher of College Park, Md., Dakota Rundlett of Vinton, and Jason and Allyson Andriano of Waterloo; many nieces, nephews and cousins; a half brother, Donald Smith of Creston; and a sister-in-law, Betty Hager of Greenfield.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Eugene, Art, and Lloyd Hager; eight half brothers, Gardner, Henry and Melvin Hager, and Charlie, Gerald, Lester, Sam and Russell “Bill” Smith; seven half sisters, Ellie Schrim, Lydia Harden, Gladys Craig, Clara Hoadley, Elsie Meinsenheimer, Grace Hager and Ethel Grant; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Hager.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Retta was a longtime cancer survivor of 28 years. In her spare time she enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, gardening and quilting. She was a caregiver for many.
