REINBECK - Paul J. Hurley, 60, of Reinbeck, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at his home in Reinbeck.

He was born Dec. 2, 1944, in Waterloo, son of Corneilus James and Philamena Anne Getta Hurley. He married Mary Dee Hass Oct. 5, 1968.

He graduated from Columbus High School in 1963 and served during the Vietnam War with the 79th Army Band. In 1963, Mr. Hurley began his career with John Deere. He later received his bachelors of science degree from Wartburg College, Waverly, in 1987.

He served as post commander of American Legion Action Post No. 242 in 1976.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Thomas Edward of East Peoria, Ill., and Patrick Dee of Reinbeck; his mother, Philamena Hurley; and a sister-in-law Theresa (Mike) Hurley.

Preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, James and Mike.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Reinbeck, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at French-Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and where there will be a 6 p.m. scriptural wake service.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
