WATERLOO - Donald Joseph Patten, 90, of Colorado, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at his sons home in Colorado of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 20, 1914, in Riceville, son of Arthur and Bessie Smith Patten. He married Clara A. Holcomb on Sept. 28, 1933, in Waterloo. She preceded him in death July 5, 1996.

Mr. Patten worked in the Waterloo area his entire married life, most recently at Allen Hospital until his retirement.

Survived by three sons, Leonard A. (Nola) of Readlyn, Donald C. (Linda) of Parkersburg and Terry (Lu Ann) of Red Feather Lakes, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Bert (Sarah) of Florida; and a sister, Darlene Smith of Denver.

Preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in the Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
