WATERLOO - Selma E. Beaumont, 92, of rural Waterloo, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of merkel cell cancer.

She was born Feb. 3, 1913, in Bremer County, daughter of Christ and Clara Oelwein Moehle. She married Carl Beaumont March 27, 1937, in Vinton. He died May 12, 1982.

She attended Sumner schools and farmed with her husband on his parents farm for 45 years.

Survived by five nieces, Verla (Major) Chance of Sacramento, Calif., and Jeanette Curry, Hazel Brown, Dorothy Hoppenworth and Donna Yount, all of Waterloo; a great-nephew, Steve Chance; a great-niece, Carol Silverberg; great-great-nieces and -nephew, Jennifer and Jason Chance and Emily Silverberg; and a cousin, Edna Gray of New Hampton.

Preceded in death by a sister, Emma Meyer; and two brothers, Otto and Henry Moehle.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Amenity Hospice.
