WATERLOO - William Delmar "Bill" Smith, 88, of Waterloo, formerly of Beaver Dam, Wis., died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at his son's residence of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 3, 1925, near Seymor, son of Delmar and Olive Davis Smith. On Jan. 15, 1945, he married Ledwena Rynor; she preceded him in death.

Mr. Smith worked at John Deere for a short time before starting his own business as a bricklayer and masonry contractor. Later in life, he hauled milk for AMPI in Jesup and Strawberry Point as an owner/operator of W.D. Smith and Sons.

Survived by three sons, Royal (Marcialee) of Burnsville, Minn., Ronald (Eva) of Beaver Dam and Ryan of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Anthony and Andrew Smith of Burnsville, Jessica (John) Hying of DeForest, Wis., Adam (Michelle) Smith of Beaver Dam, Kristen (Matthew Bouche) Smith of Green Bay, Wis., Chelsey (Michael) Knapp of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Mitchell Smith of Cedar Falls; five great-grandchildren, Alaynah and William Smith of Beaver Dam, Syler William Smith of Green Bay and Carter and Grayson Knapp of Brooklyn Park; many nieces and nephews; a brother, Wendell of Alliance, Neb.; and special friend and caretaker, Jessie Beaumont, and her three children, Jaylea, Tony and Dylan.

Preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Bowman, Mary Minks, John and Harry Smith, Bonnie Smith, and two sisters in infancy.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Bill enjoyed farming and raising livestock.
