CEDAR FALLS -- Robert Eugene Sorenson, 81, of Cedar Falls, died at home Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013.

He was born June 2, 1932, in Cedar Falls, son of Paul and Frances Mathes Sorenson. He married Dorothy Dreager on June 29, 1958, in St. Ansgar. She died June 1, 1998.

Mr. Sorenson was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and Northwestern College of Chiropractic, St. Paul, Minn. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked for Peterman & Haes Floorcovering Inc., Waterloo, for over 30 years.

Survived by two sons, Mark (Beth) of Irving, Texas, and Fred (Sheila) of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; a daughter, Gretchen Harvey of Folsom, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three brothers, Paul (Diane) of Cedar Falls, Richard (Jeanie) of St. Helens, Ore., and Erik (Joanie) of Idaho.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a son, John.

Gathering of family and friends: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Robert’s home, 1309 Clay St., Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
