WATERLOO - Josephine "Jo" Edwards, 88, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Waterloo, daughter of Frederick A. and Jessie Wilder Hunt. She married Nauman F. Meves Oct. 1, 1936, in Waterloo. He died in June 1941. She then married William E. Edwards May 6, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died March 19, 1986.

She attended Waterloo East High School and graduated from Pitzes School of Beauty. She was a housewife most of her life and also worked at Carolyns Fabrics and T&K Market.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, since 1927, and she also was a member of Phi Tau Omega Sorority, Kappa Nu Chapter, and the Waterloo Elklets.

Survived by a daughter, Janice L. (Bob) Hagarty of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Christopher Hagarty, Chad Hagarty, Joshua Okun and Sarah Okun; and a great-granddaughter, Chloe Kathryn Hagarty.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nauman Meves; husband, William Edwards; a daughter, Sheri A. Okun; a granddaughter, Bailey Okun; three brothers, Lawrence Hunt, Harry Hunt and Fred Hunt Jr.; and two sisters, Miriam Hawkins and Margaret Steeves.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, with inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call for an hour before services Friday at the church. Her body has been cremated. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
