Ruth M. Jones, 82, of Janesville, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, from complications of lymphoma.

She was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Waverly, daughter of Fred and Effie Geerdes Erbes. On July 22, 1939, she married Francis Jones at the Presbyterian Church, Waverly.

Mrs. Jones attended Janesville School System. In 1975 she went to work for the Janesville School System in the food services department, retiring in 1992. She was a long-time member of the Janesville United Methodist Church, where she was active with the UMW. She enjoyed playing cards and working in her flower garden.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Nola (Mart) Woeste of Janesville and Janice (Harold) Bowles of Unionville, Mo.; a son, Alan (Linda) of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Dr. Lori Woeste of Hudson, Ill., Brad Woeste of Kenosha, Wis., Amy Albaugh of West Des Moines, Lynette Bowles of Springville, Brent Bowles of Searcy, Ark., Holli Neil of Jesup, Patrick Jones of Decatur, Ill., and Katie Fleshner of Waterloo; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Donald Erbes.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Janesville, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
