WATERLOO -- Lloyd M. Hambly, 91, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at the Denver Sunset Nursing Home, Denver.

He was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Latimer, son of Lester W. and Lila H. Deal Hambly I. He married Dorothy H. Fritts on April 5, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo.; she died Dec. 31, 2002.

Mr. Hambly was the assistant superintendent of the street department in Waterloo for 34 years. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survived by a son, Steven L. of Waterloo; two daughters, Dorothy M. Fink of Denver and Ellen L. (Steven) Flickinger of Cedar Falls; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Milton (Jean) of La Porte City; and a sister, Marie Clark of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lester II; and two sisters, Hazel Regan and Helen Seavey.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday at Kearns Service Funeral Home on Kimball, where visitationn begins at 10 a.m. His body will be cremated after the service, with inurnment at a later date.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be directed to Iowa Public Television.
