WATERLOO - Serena Kay Grayson, 59, of 112 Western Ave., died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born May 17, 1948, in Tahlaquah, Okla., daughter of Ray and Susie Lee Daughtery Glass. She married Roger John Grayson, and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Grayson was employed in food service as a cook at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, for many years before returning to Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Kavin L. Martin of Waterloo; six daughters, Tammuel Brown of Indianapolis, Terena Martin of St. Paul, Minn., Constance Cockhren of Cedar Rapids, and Kim Martin, Geneatha Martin and LaCreasa Martin, all of Waterloo; 41 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Lee Glass of Muskogee, Okla.; and a sister, Margaret Glass-Cockhren of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Donald Lee Glass, Henry Glass and Willie Glass.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Church of The First Born, with burial at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Greer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 1028 Jefferson St., where they will receive friends.
