WATERLOO -- Royce D. Ewoldt, 81, of Traer, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013,at Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer.

He was born July 24, 1932, on a family farm southeast of Traer, son of Elmer and Mildred Jacobsen Ewoldt. He married Patricia Green on Dec. 19, 1954, in Toledo.

Mr. Ewoldt graduated from Traer High School, Traer, in 1950, and attended AIB College, Des Moines, for a short time. He worked with his father on the farm and Cas Feed Store until serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He farmed near Traer.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Barry (Cheryl) and Brian (Angela), both of Traer, and Cory (Dawn) of Hiawatha; six grandchildren, Joshua (Tasha) of Traer, Lance of Waterloo, and Brieanna, Brandon, Marissa and Jamison; three great-granddaughters, Braelyn, Kruiz and Kaeler; and a brother, Loren (Pauline) of Traer.

Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Norman and Sherman.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo, with burial and full military honors in Buckingham Cemetery, rural Traer. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, and an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family for donation to charities to be determined at a later date.
