WATERLOO - Frances L. Knode, 94, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013at Northcrest Specialty Care.

She was born April 7, 1919, in Eau Claire, Wis., daughter of Albert and Pearl Meredith Leslie. She married Oliver Knode on July 5, 1941, in Waterloo. He died in May 1995.

Mrs. Knode graduated from Chester High School, Chester, and attended Upper Iowa University. She was employed as a payroll secretary for the Waterloo Community Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survived by two sons, Scott (Diane) of Waterloo and Robert (Carol) of Winter Haven, Fla.; her former daughter-in-law, Sharon Grove-Minning of Detroit; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Owen Leslie.

Private family memorial services: will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel is assisting the family.

Frances touched many hearts in her life.
