LA PORTE CITY - Beth E. Sewick, 95, of La Porte City, died Friday, April 21, 2006, at the La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 17, 1910, in Jesup, daughter of Chris A. and Leora Parker Emerson. She married Dale F. Sewick on June 26, 1930, and he preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1982.

She graduated from Jesup schools and attended Iowa State Teacher's College for a year. She was the last charter member of the Barclay Jolly Dozen Club.

Survived by a son, Gerald of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sons, Kit and Rex; a daughter, Elaine Beth Sewick; a brother, Ralph Emerson; and a sister, Edith A. Ganiere.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City, with burial in New Barclay Cemetery, rural Jesup. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
