ELK RUN HEIGHTS - Roger W. Murray Sr., 74, of Elk Run Heights, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Algona, son of James and Nina Jorgensen Murray. He married May L. Back Feb. 12, 1954, in Waterloo.

Mr. Murray was a machinist at W.W. Manufacturing in Washburn for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Roger and Russ, both of Waterloo; two daughters, Deb Murray of Colorado and Linda (Louis) Ostlie of Jesup; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon (Barbara) of Kansas; and a sister, Helen Rogers of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and James; and two sisters, Margaret and Nina Murray.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and V.F.W. Post 1623. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. The casket will be closed.
