WATERLOO — Dale R. Meewes, 71, of Americana Healthcare Center, formerly of 603 Baltimore St., died at the center Monday, Oct. 30, 1995 of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Reinbeck son of George and Mary Storjohann Meewes. He married Eraa S. Schilmeir on May 31, 1956, in Waterloo.

Mr. Meewes was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed on the labor line at the John Deere Tractor Works for 44 years, retiring in 1989.

Survived by his wife; four brothers, Leo of Mesa, Ariz., Russell of Dike, Clarence of Waterloo and Warren of Cedar Falls; and three sisters, Margret Davis of Mesa, Esther Lauterbach of Waterloo and Marion Squires of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Guns and Mildred Rudy.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity American Lutheran Church or the family.
