Clyde J. "Zubie" Zubrod, 86, of 316 E. Mitchell Ave., died Thursday, July 26, 1990, at University Hospital in Iowa City, after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 12, 1904, in Minneapolis, the son of Joseph and Louise Waskow Zubrod. He married Sylvia Kunkle on Oct. 6, 1928, in Oelwein. She preceded him in death in 1979.

He was a railroad engineer for 29 years with the WCF&N Railroad, retiring in 1970.

Survivors include a son, Clifford of Waterloo; two brothers, Virgil of Sebastopol, Calif., and Gerald of Renton, Wash.; two sisters, Bernice Derrick of Oelwein and Neoma Morehouse of Waterloo; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call fr om 1 to 7 p.m. today at the chapel, where there will be a 6 p.m. Scripture service, and from 9 a.m. to services Monday.
