CEDAR FALLS - Jean L. Fairbanks, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Washburn, daughter of Clifford and Helen Wildes Clark. She married Donald L. Fairbanks on Nov. 29, 1952, at Calvary Bible Church, Washburn.

She graduated from West High School. Mrs. Fairbanks worked at Rath Packing, Tate Cadillac-Olds, Reed Cadillac and Community Motors for most of her career as a bookkeeper. She then worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing before retiring. She was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Grace Brethren and most recently attended Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. She was a member of PEO, Christian Women's Club and the Metro Community Concert Association.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Craig (Nancy) and Doug, both of Cedar Falls, and Mark (Jana) of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Brock Fairbanks, Laura (Peter) Kockelkorn, Jeff (Karrie) Hawk, Wesley (Lori) Fairbanks, Madison Fairbanks, Marshall Abbe and Jordan Abbe; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Janice Clark of Lansing.

Preceded in death by a brother, Jay Clark.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. Family burial will precede the service at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Walnut Ridge Baptist Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Her love of music led her to serve faithfully in the churches she attended as a pianist and member of the choir.
