CEDAR FALLS - Lorraine A. Wood, 87, of Cedar Falls died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Lloyd H. and Thalia E. Nichols Johnson. She married Cleon A. Wood on Oct. 27, 1943, in Cedar Falls.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1943 and was employed as a bookkeeper with Doerfer Engineering, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Wood was a member of First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Robert (Patricia) of La Porte City, Randy of St. Louis and Russell (Kimberly) of Pine Top, Ariz.; a daughter, Thalia Wood of Silver Springs, Md.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Cedar Valley Hospice or Western Home Foundation.
