Mrs Hattie Selby, 84, died of carcinoma at 1:30 p.m. yesterday at the home of her son, R. D. Selby, 109 East End Avenue, Evansdale. She had been a semi-invalid for the past 15 years.

Mrs. Selby was born Nov. 3, 1867, in Linn County, the daughter of Horace and Clarissa Fay. She was married in 1888 to Howard Selby in Linn County.

She came to Waterloo in 1947 from Des Moines and has made her home here ever since. Mrs. Selby was a member of the Linden Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, R. D. Selby, and Don, Clarksdale, Miss., and four sisters: Mrs. Sadie Kidder, Epworth, Iowa; Mrs. Florence Hill, LaGrande, Ore., and Miss Myrtis Fay and Mrs. Ruth Maurer, both of Charles City, Iowa.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1907.

The body is at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. George Pimlott, pastor of Linden Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Des Moines.
