GILBERTVILLE - Gerald J. Thome, 30, died at his farm home near here at 1:10 p.m. yesterday. He had recently returned from Rochester, Minn., where he had underwent treatment for a heat ailment.

He was born May 19, 1921, in Raymond, Iowa. He married Bernadette Weber Jan. 22, 1939.

Mr. Thome was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville.

Survivin are the wife, at home; three daughters, Shirley, Jeanette and Marlene, all at home; father, Michael, Gilbertville; two brothers, Florent, Gilbertville, and Joseph, Raymond, and one sister, Miss Lillian Thome, Gilbertville.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, with Rev. Fr. W. J. Cremer officiating. Burial will be in Gilbertville.

The body will be taken to the farm home Sunday afternoon from the Ray Hurley Funeral Home in Waterloo.
