WATERLOO - John C. Sulentic, 64, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Dec. 22, 1948, in Waterloo, son of John J. and Marjorie Reams Sulentic. He married Jeri Sulentic on Dec. 1, 1972, at St. Edward Catholic Church, Waterloo, and they were later divorced. They reunited in May 2012.

He graduated from Columbus High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Sulentic was a metal worker at Waterloo Industries and other area machine shops.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Matthew (Betsy Winter) of Cedar Rapids and Lucas (Maria Schreiber) of Algona; a grandson, Peyton Sulentic of Algona; a brother, Jack of Grenada, Spain; a sister, Cheryl Sulentic of Waterloo; and a half brother, Howard Earl (Bev) Allen of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his best friend, Danny Kaumans.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery with full military honors by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138, Sullivan Brothers VFW Post 1623 and the Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
