FORMAKER, MEYER, GOETTEL, BEATTY

Funeral services for Charles F. Formaker, 84, of 120 Hawthorne Avenue, who died at 9 a.m. yesterday in the Augustine convalescent home of complications due to advanced age, are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Formaker was born Jan. 24, 1857, in Sabow, Germany, the son of Gottlieb and Albertina Formaker. He came to the United States with his family in 1881 and they settled in Sumner, Ia. In 1904 he moved to Waterloo where he resided until his death.

He married Margarete Meyer Sept. 3, 1890, in Waverly, Ia.

Mr. Formaker retired from the Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Northern Railroad in 1945. He had been in railroad business all his adult life. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. M. H. Goettel of 120 Hawthorne Avenue; a son, Carl, of 427 Edwards Street; a sister, Mrs. William Beatty of 1214 East Fourth Street; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His wife, two sons and a daughter preceded him in death.

The remains can be viewed at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home after noon Monday.
