WATERLOO - Jerry “Wayne” Raffield, 69, of Youngstown, Fla., formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, after a long fight with health issues.

He was born Dec. 21, 1943, in Panama City, Fla., son of Dofford and Annie Ruth Raffield. He married Betty Schmitt on June 26, 1964.

He retired from John Deere after 30 years.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Marcie Raffield; a son, Daniel (Andrea); three grandchildren, Aidan, Grayson and Emily; two stepbrothers, Butch and Andy Kornegay; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby and Larry; and a niece, Gail Fell.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Sunday at the Moose Lodge in Washburn.

Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. He also was a great woodworker, and built many different things like cars, tractors and trucks.
