CEDAR FALLS - Robert B. “Bob” Gibson, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Martin Center at the Western Home, Cedar Falls.

He was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Erie, Pa., son of Forrest R. and Laura D. Munger Gibson. He married Evelyn Klein on June 16, 1948, in Hamburg.

He graduated from high school in McCook, Neb., and earned degrees from Northwestern Bible School and Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minn. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Mr. Gibson was an accountant for many years, most recently at Hawkeye Metal Spinning in Jesup for 14 years, retiring in September 1999. He was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, Waterloo.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Paul (Donna) of Cedar Falls and David (Barbara) of Broken Bow, Neb.; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, a stepgreat-grandchild; three brothers, Richard (Carol) of Tyler, Texas, Donald of Audubon and Jack (Carol) of Branson, Mo.; and a sister, Mary Hagood of Lincoln, Neb.

Preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and two sisters, Clarice Ann Oughton and Jeannette Bennington.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
