WATERLOO - Regis T. Sampica, 78, of Ithaca, Neb., formerly of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.

He was born Aug. 6, 1935, in Milwaukee, son of Ernest P. and Amanda White Sampica. He married Charlotte Ann Jones in April 1969 in Galena, Ill. She died March 18, 2001.

Mr. Sampica worked as a foreman in commercial construction for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Marines.

Survived by a daughter, Susanna (Kenneth) Prater of Ithaca, Neb.; a son, Karl Sampica Larsson of Evansdale; four grandchildren, Tylor Shull, Travis Olson, Elana Johnson and Megan Prater; two great-granddaughters, Taylar Shull and Leah Peterson; and six sisters, Joyce (Bob) McMurrin of Cedar Falls, Phyllis (John) Derifield of Waterloo, Marcia (Corky) Halverson of Evansdale, Gloria Juan of San Francisco, Berniece Paul of Connecticut and Mary Sampica of Boise, Idaho.

Preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ramona Olson; four brothers, Ken, David, Gerald and Bernard; and four sisters, Katherine Radolovich, Theresa Trusty, Pat Ruth Timmer and Grace Taylor.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, Waterloo, with burial in Poyner Township Cemetery, and full military honors by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138, Sullivan Brothers VFW Post 1623 and the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
