Denise C. Logan, 52, of Independence, died at home Thursday, January 11, 2007, following a long illness.

She was born Aug. 28, 1954, in Waterloo, daughter of Roger and Marlyn Schake Subra. She married Duane Cushion in 1975 and they later divorced. She married John Logan on April 3, 1987, in Independence.

Mrs. Logan graduated from Oelwein High School, Oelwein, in 1972. She worked as a home health aide in Independence for the last four years.

Survived by her husband; four sons, Brian Cushion of Randalia, Jamie and Jeremy Logan, both of Oelwein, and Joe Logan of Marion; three daughters, Jodi Betsinger of Waverly, Chris Shaw of Waterloo and Holly Chaitman of Kansas; 15 grandchildren; her mother of West Union; a brother, Jim Subra of Rochester, Minn.; and two sisters, Sheryl Whitney and Brenda Kuennen of Maynard.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, both in Independence. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, and from 9 a.m. until services Monday at the church.
