DUNKERTON - Robert "Bob" Arthur McGarvey, 82, of Dunkerton, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Manchester, son of Thomas Arthur McGarvey and Georgia Pearl Maggert McGarvey. He married Lois M. Flaucher on Jan. 30, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo.

Mr. McGarvey was employed by Rath Packing Co., Waterloo, until his retirement.

Survived by his wife; a son, Ronald (Fran) of Dunkerton; seven daughters, Karen (Jean) Knebel, Connie Stumme, Debra (DeVere) Lindquist, Patricia (Rob) McMahon and Shelly (Brad) Eades, all of Dunkerton, Cheryl Rigdon of Newhall and Denise (John) Meyer of Waterloo; 22 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy McGarvey; a grandson; two half brothers, Lester Shaw and Adrian Shaw; a half sister, Hilda Smith; and two sons-in-law, Duane Rigdon and Darrel Stumme.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
