Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy J. Strain, 88, who died at the home of her son, Homer B. Strain,
1214 Wallgate Avenue, at 9:30 a. m. Thursday, will be held Sunday at 3:30 p, m. in the North Manchester Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. Mr. Veils officiating. Burial will be made in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.

Nancy J. Higgins was born in Bangor, Maine, Aug. 2, 1843, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Higgins. She was married to Andrew Strain, Feb. 8, 1869, at Dubuque,

They made their home in Independence for a few years, returned later to Dubuque and in 1900 moved to Delaware County. In 1912 they were located in Manchester, where Mrs. Higgins lived until the death of her husband April 17, 1926. Since that time she has made her home in Waterloo.

She is survived by six children, two sons having preceded her in death. Children are Homer B. Strain, 214 Wallgate Avenue; Robert S. Strain, 928 Wellington Street; Waterloo; Mrs. Carrie A. Wagner, Cedar Rapids; Harry N. Strain and Howard P. Strain, both of Manhester, and Jesse P. Strain, St. Helens, Ore.

The following grandchildren survive: Mildred, Richard, Loretta and Jerry Strain, all of Waterloo; Mrs. Euna Stan, Chicago; Leona Colby and John Wagner, both of Cedar Rapids; Norman and Bethel Strain, both of Manchester, and Newton, Arnold and Etta Strain, all of St. Helens. There are also three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Strain was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The body was taken to Brown's Mortuary in Manchester.
