Funeral services for Richard Strain, 62, of Dubuque, former Waterloo resident, will be at 9 a. m. Monday at the Egelhof Funeral Home in Dubuque; and at 3 p. m. at the Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home at St. Ansgar.

Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in rural St. Ansgar.

Mr. Strain died Thursday evening in Dubuque of a circulatory ailment.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ardella Seefelt; one son, James Strain. New York City; and one grandchild.

Son of Robert S. and Carrie Bell Coonrod Strain, Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1930.

His wife was Ardella E. Seefeldt Strain, daughter of Otto & Anna Seefeldt of St. Ansgar, Iowa.
She graduated from Osage High School in 1928. She died June 12, 1999.

Some of his siblings were: Robert S. Strain, Waterloo; Mrs. Carrie A. Wagner, Cedar Rapids; Harry N. Strain and Howard P. Strain, Manchester, and Jesse P. Strain, St. Helens, Ore.
