DILLE, CHILCOTE, HIGHTOWER

Abner D. Dille, 93, of 305 Glendale Street, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday in the home of a son, Earl Dille, 1326 Logan Avenue, his death attributed to complications of advanced age.

Abner Denman Dille was born in Sheridan County, Montana* Mar. 2, 1851, son of Nediah and Nancy Dille, and married Margaret Chilcote on June 5, 1891, in Mahaska County, Iowa.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Hightower, Oskaloosa, Iowa; the son, Earl; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His wife preceded him in death.

One grandson, Elmer Hightower, is a member of the Waterloo police department. Another grandson, Lt. Marvin Dille, was killed over Germany on Jan. 4, 1944, while serving in the army air force.

The body is at Kearns Garden Chapel.

Funeral services for Abner D. Dille, 305 Glendale Street, who died Monday in the home of his son. Earl Dille, 1323s Logan Avenue, will be conducted at 1 p. m. Wednesday in the Methodist church at Bussey, la. Burial will be in Lawn Hill Cemetery there. The body will remain at Kearns Garden chapel until 9 a, m. Wednesday.

*Original wording of obit said he was born in Sherridan Co., Mo. This researcher would assume Missouri, but there is no Sherridan Co. in Missouri, but there's one in Montana.
