HUDSON - Larry K. McCulley, 78, of Hudson, died at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Iowa Falls, son of George L. and Bernice A. Doescher McCulley. He married Helen Myers in Waterloo and they later divorced. Later he married Janette Chambers on July 23, 1983, in Hudson.

A 1954 graduate of Hudson High School, Mr. McCulley was a salesman for Heating and Cooling Supply Co., Waterloo, retiring in 1988. Later he drove for Bill Colwell Ford and was a school bus driver for NU High School. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, where he served as a trustee, and was a member of Cedar Valley Pistol and Rifle Club.

Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Dawn (Dennis) Young and Maurita (David), both of Hudson; a son, Chris (Barbara) of Hudson; seven grandchildren, Brett (Anna) Young, Brandon Young, Blake Young, Dakota Lubbers, Allan McCulley, Bridget McCulley and Danielle McCulley; three great-grandchildren, Blaiklee Schatz, and twins Cedric and Cecilia Young; and two sisters, Laureen (Dean) Schmitt and Lea Olson, both of Hudson.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Larry also was a member of PT Boats Inc.-- a non-profit -- in honor of his father who had been on a PT boat and Tenders during World War II.
