WATERLOO - Beverly A. Wirtz, 73, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Waterloo, daughter of Joe and Leona Dickenson Stocks. She married Wilbert Wirtz on Nov. 26, 1951, in Waterloo. He died May 19, 2007.

Mrs. Wirtz was employed as a cook with Allen Hospital, and later with the University of Northern Iowa until her retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Randy (Roxanne) of Janesville and Michael of Cedar Falls; eight daughters, Sandra (Steve) Siemens of Traer, Janette (Michael) Kvidera of Marshalltown, Nancy Chapman, Vickie Wirtz, Lou Ann Wirtz, Robin (Dave) Anderson and Rebecca (Darrin Gray) Wirtz, all of Waterloo, and Christine (Anthony) Bedard of Dunkerton; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley (Thayne) Steyer of Deep Water, Mo.

Services were 10:30 a.m. today at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Allen Hospital Foundation, Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center or Cedar Valley Hospice.
