WATERLOO - Raymond J. Riley, 72, of Waterloo, died at home with his family by his side, Thursday, April 14, 2005, of cancer.

He was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Des Moines, son of Harry and Emily Jorgenson Riley. He married Marlene Terpstra Jan. 4, 1959, at Grace Methodist Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Riley worked at Rath Packing Co. and retired from Construction Machinery Corp. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He loved to go fishing.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marlene; a son, Tim (Kim) Riley of Waterloo; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Riley, both of Waterloo. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with inurnment at a later date. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and for an hour prior to services Wednesday. Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
