Mrs. L. S. Bannister, 70, died late Saturday night at her home, 522 Iowa Street, of paralysis. She had suffered several previous strokes and was bedfast for two weeks.

She was born Nov. 14, 1857, at Ottawa, Ill., her maiden name being Emma Parsons. She came to Waterloo with her parents when 8 years of age, and resided here the rest of her life. She was married here to L. S. Bannister on Oct. 7, 1875.

Besides the husband, five sons and a daughter survive, as follows: Ira, Eden, Ala.; Howard, Aplington Minn.; Harry, Bakersfield, Cal.; Wilbur, St. Joseph, Ida.; Murl, 202 Fremont Street, Waterloo, and Mrs Henry Chapman, Salt Lake City, Utah; also two sisters. Mrs. A. J Hewett, five miles northeast of Waterloo, and Mrs. Dell Folette, Fulda Minn., and three brothers, Charles Parsons, Conway, Ia.; George Parsons, Hill City, Minn. and Irving Parsons, Appleton, Minn.

The body is at the Hileman & Gindt Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Hileman & Gindt Chapel. Rev. C. L. Kenagy, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview.
