WATERLOO - Ralph Waltz, 86, of Albia, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, Oct. 6, at Oakwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Albia.

He was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Purdin, Mo., son of Joseph and Stella Jane Cooper Waltz. He married Donna Helen Newkirk on May 22, 1949, in Brookfield, Mo. She died in 1983.

Mr. Waltz worked at Continental Baking Co., Waterloo, from 1966 until retiring in 1986. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Survived by two daughters, Pat (Chris Foster) Cole of Waterloo and Deb (Daniel) Thome of Raymond; a son, Chuck Cady of Des Moines; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Sherman of Brookfield.

Preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Roy, Leland and Floyd.

Graveside services: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, with full military honors. There will be no visitation. Garden View Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
