Mr. and Mrs. George Sieglaff Rt. 1, have returned from Kinley, N. C., where they attended funeral services for her brother, Robert Esard Davis, 45 former resident of Waterloo, who died at the Veterans hospital, Fayettesville, N. C.

His death, which was due to a liver ailment caused by fever and jaundice contracted while serving in the armed services in the South Pacific during World War II, occurred Tuesday. He had served aboard a mine sweeper and on the cruiser, U.S.S. Milwaukee.

He was born in Kinley, Mo., on May 15, 1920. He came to Waterloo in 1950 from North Carolina and resided here with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Sieglaff. He because ill about June 1. He requested to return to his home at Kinley and was taken there on Aug. 1, entering the hospital Aug. 4. Burial was in the family cemetery at Kinley.

He also entered the Korean war from Waterloo and served for two years. He was emplyed by the Fuller Roofing Co. He had been married and divorced.

Surviving besides the sister in Waterloo are four brothers and two sisters in North Carolina and Long Island, New York; two sons of Gadsboro, N. C.
