WATERLOO — Debra Jean "Deb" Oberbroeckling, 48, of 2627 Edgemont Ave., died Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.
She was born Aug. 1, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of Robert and Lois E. Neuhaus Oberbroeckling. She married Jon Appleby May 22, 1982, in Waterloo, and they were later divorced.
She was a 1973 graduate of Columbus High School and was employed as a dental hygienist Deb in the Waterloo area, Dubuque, Rochester, Minn., Quincy, Ill., and most recently in Des Moines. She loved her family, friends and the Lord.
Survived by her parents of Waterloo; a daughter, Katie Appleby of Waterloo; two brothers, Dan (Carol) Oberbroeckling of Indianapolis and Joe (Alice) Oberbroeckling of Sheboygan Wis.; two sisters, Nancy (Curt) Diehm of Dubuque and Joan (Mike) Craig of Waterloo; six nieces, Emily and Megan Diehm, Jessica and Libby Craig and Amy and Erica Oberbroeckling; and four nephews, Noah Diehm and Ben, Jimmy and Gregory Oberbroeckling.
Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Greg and Cecelia Oberbroeckling; maternal grandparents, George and Eugenia Neuhaus; and two nephews, Michael Craig and Adam Oberbroeckling.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery Friends may call from 3 to 8 p m today at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. There will be no visitation Friday at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name to Cedar Valley Hospice or to the family with the beneficiary to be determined at a later date.
