Mrs. Josephine E. Alton, 72 formerly of 1015 Thorndale Ave. died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday a Barton Nursing Home of com plications incident to advanced age.

She was born Josephine Donavan Aug. 6, 1893, at Fredericksburg and was married there Dec. 25, 1912, to Henry Alton He died Jan. 29, 1963. Mrs. Alton resided in Waterloo for the past 41 years.

Surviving are two sons, Linden Alton, 1117 Magnolia Pkwy and George, of Ionia, and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Wolfer, Grenada Hills, Calif., and Mrs. Louise Geiger, 1048 Logan Ave. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Grace Alton, Portland, Ore.; and 1 brother, John Donavan, Baraboo, Wis.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband and one daughter.

Funeral services will be at Chapel of Memories East at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev Louis Accola, associate pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.
