[Waterloo Times Tribune, Friday, November 29, 1901, Waterloo, Iowa]

Wellington Russell, an old resident of this city, died at the family home in Liscomb Tuesday. The remains will be brought to this city for interment in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Russell was for mary years a prominent factor in Waterloo business circles and will be well remembered by all old settlers especially. He moved to this city in the early sixties and at once engaged in the flouring mill business on the west side of the river. After disposing of his mills he was engaged in the grain business, having an elevator near the Illinois Central depot. After disposing of this he engaged in the grocery business in company with the late A. T. Weatherwax, occupying quarters in the old Union block.

He moved to Liscomb in 1880 at which piece he has since resided and where he was engaged in the lumber and coal business.

The remains arrived over the Chicago Great Western this, morning and services are being held this afternoon at the Universalist church. The services at the cemetery will be in charge of the G.A.R. post, of which he was a member.
