WATERLOO -- Mary L. Dunfee, 87, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

She was born June 15, 1926, in Shell Rock, daughter of James L. and Eva Estella Brown Lahmon. She married Eldred “Al” Dunfee on Oct. 31, 1958, in Tennessee; he died in December 1997.

Mrs. Dunfee was a homemaker and had been past president of the WBA from 1970 to 1980. She also had been an Avon representative for many years.

Survived by a daughter, Suan (Jim) Bowers of Cedar Falls; three sons, Garry (Jeri) of Oregon, Dean of Waterloo and Ross (Pam) of Washington; 12 grandchildren, T.J. (Angie) Durnin of Monona, Faye (Jerry Puls) Schares of La Porte City, Scott Durnin of Oklahoma, Lisa (Daniel) Utterback of Nevada, Eric (Kelli) Dunfee of Alaska, Susan Dunfee and Lorie Dunfee, both of Oregon, Douglas (Emmy) Dunfee of Colorado, Sabrina (Matt) Little of Evansdale, Amanda (Alex) Morris of Roland and Toby (Justin) Kirby of Cedar Falls; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Louis Lahmon of Minnesota.

Preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Terry and Wayne Durnin; a grandson, Kim Durnin; a great-granddaughter, Faron Durnin; two sisters, Leola Chamberlain and Lillian Christensen; and six brothers, Leon, Leo, Leonard, Lyle, Lonnie and Leslie Lahmon.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and an hour before services Friday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
