ELK RUN HEIGHTS -- Janet Lynn Paulsen, 52, of Elk Run Heights, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born March 10, 1961, in Waterloo, daughter of Eugene and Phyllis Eastlick Fischels. She married Daniel D. Paulsen in 1985 in Waterloo and they later divorced.

She was employed with Menards for 26 years, and most recently at The Bar in Raymond.

Survived by two sons, Ryan Woods of Evansdale and Shawn Paulsen of Waterloo; a daughter, Rachael Paulsen of Elk Run Heights; four grandchildren, Skyler Woods, Keagan Woods, Allie Hirschauer and Rheyana Paulsen; her father of La Porte City; two brothers, Jeff (Susan) Fischels of Kansas City, Kan., and Chris (Shelby) Fischels of La Porte City; two sisters, Nancy (Tony) Dudley of Elk Run Heights and Shari Scarbrough of Evansdale; and special friend, Pat McMahon of Raymond.

Preceded in death by her mother; and a granddaughter, Alexis Phillips.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, with a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
