WATERLOO - Norman A. King, Sr., 88, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls.

He was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Waterloo, son of Dios and Susan Ott King. He married Kathleen Bruskern on April 7, 1945, in Waterloo and they later divorced. He married Mary Lou Martin on May 15, 1968, in Waterloo; she died July 18, 1982. He married Bernice Mackenberg on Jan. 15, 1983, in Waterloo.

A 1943 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Mr. King worked as an electrician for Black Hawk Electric for 15 years, retiring in 1986. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survived by his wife; four daughters, Becky (Gordon) Overman of Omaha, Neb., Sherry (Russell) Kramer of Kelley, Barbara (Ray) Meyers of Long Beach, Miss., and Jody Sullivan of Rochester, Minn.; four sons, Daniel (Kelly) of Hudson, Thomas of Waterloo, Andy (Kelly) of Grundy Center and Bill (Jeri) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three stepsons, Neal (Laura) Mackenburg of Cedar Rapids, Mike Martin of Okinawa, Japan, and Jeff (Linda) Martin of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Melodie (Mike) Quinn of Travelers Rest, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a sister, Yolanda King

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Locke Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
